When they say after the defeat in the first T20I, it was just that we wanted to do a partnership, couple of partnerships and that’s what we did today.

Yeah we did today and our bowlers played very well today. They’re doing a very good job there. We have to adapt to the difficult tour so far as a professional player. So, we know the condition now, we are trying to adapt and execute the plans. Hopefully he’ll be alright.

Mohammad Saifuddin | Player of the Match: After a long time, it’s my first Player of the Match in T20Is. That’s why I’m so much excited. Plus, we’re back 1-1 in our series.

First of all, all credit goes to our opening partnership batsman because on his 10-ball 31, he did a great job. They had a fine batting performance. They established momentum for the big run. Partly also due to our fast bowlers’ performance, Taskin and Rishad. All are doing well.

A lot of discussion happened in the previous days, so we adapted ourselves to the conditions. Means, this is winter; we’re too much hot in (our) conditions (in Bangladesh), you know. We are better, little bit adjust problem in the wicket. However, two days ago we had a good meeting. That is why our batters had a good performance.

Sikandar Raza (Zimbabwe captain): You could see that in the first few overs it was definitely a turner. Look at the seamers as well, there was a bit of a pop, there was slowness of the surface as well. It is a fact that we knew that the wicket would improve before it would start spinning.

But, as the captain, to be honest, I’m really embarrassed to be here. It was a domino effect after that in our batting that we had to go out as we did. Credit to the bowlers, I don’t think I ever thought that we weren’t going to beat them, even with seven catches down, but I thought we held them at bay at what, after seven catches 19 overs, 158, 59, I thought that was a very great performance.

We didn’t get an over out, but I believe the effect of those fielding skills have now gone into our batting and that’s how we batted today. On the opening stand we didn’t feel that the game has slipped away from us more than it is compared to our fielding.

I believed that we were still in. I knew it’s not a wicket to emerge out of and begin hitting from ball one. It’s going to take a little bit more time for batters to get set, and unfortunately, the new batters would not have that much time.

That is why you saw Bangladesh lose a number of wickets in that time. However, as before, the very last over was the downfall. If not we would’ve gone about our business a little differently, or maybe even kicked the ball after we’d dropped 165.

But truly, truly bad on the field, and that’s something that I will be tackling. [On Evans’ last over] As much as the last over hurt us, but I think, you know, the way we fielded, that was coming. I know that Brad didn’t fire with the ball, it came out of his hand some good shots, some bad balls. But in all honesty, I would say, that we lost the catch on the last ball of the 20th over, too.

Well, that’s just a brief description of how dismal we were in the field today. So yeah, the last over was tough to take. 28 in, 28, 29 in that over, 160, 165,

whatever the difference. Yeah, but I just feel we were not worthy of winning. Even with 165, we didn’t deserve to win.

Bangladesh have come up with an ideal reply in the first T20I after being outplayed. They’ve fought back emphatically in a battle that has evened the score and to make Sunday a decider. It was not Zimbabwe’s day really.

They hit hard with a loss of almost 7 catches, some of which were reprieves for Saif Hassan in his 120-run debut with Tanzid Hasan Tamim. Zimbabwe briefly managed to get back on game with five quick wickets but Yasir Ali and Mohammad Saifuddin put the finishing touch to the innings.

In the last over, Saifuddin’s four sixes over Brad Evans put Bangladesh on the winning side. But Zimbabwe did not get it, as no one was able to reach the 30-run target and wickets continued to roll off the boards, leaving them 34 short of the target. Rishad Hossain was the man to pick up four wickets and Mahedi Hasan made it three with his bowling.

Bangladesh added 34 runs in the second T20I of the three-match series to make a decider in Zimbabwe inevitable, which was a key match for the team to win.The second T20I of the three-match series was a decider-worthy contest for Bangladesh as they chalked up a 34-run victory in Bulawayo.

Put in to bat, Bangladesh innings swayed from the sublime to the ridiculous as Saif Hassan and Tanzid Hasan put on an opening stand of 120 – and both scored half-centuries – helped by five dropped catches.

A lack of tactics was evident in an uncharacteristically sloppy Zimbabwe side which deployed seven bowlers and also lost a sixth catch at the end of the Bangladesh innings. They then bowled out five batsmen for 21 runs and secured a comeback in the process to take Bangladesh back to the middle of the range, which had been set to go to a run up north of 180.

They did make it, but it was because of one man. Mohammad Saifuddin at 7 defended sturdily to carve out an incredible finish in the last over to see Bangladesh go from 158 for 5 to 186. Saifuddin became the first Bangladesh batsman to hit four sixes in a row in the 6th over.

The hosts had managed to register a higher score than that just once in all of Zimbabwe’s history and required a big partnership. The most they managed to come close to that was their 44-run fourth wicket stand between Sikandar Raza and Milton Shumba, but each of the other two batters managed only Ryan Burl’s 29.

Bangladesh had seven wickets for 50 runs in 46 deliveries with the spinners taking six wickets, Mahedi Hasan and Rishad Hossain.

All they will think of is that the bowler’s right arm seamer Nahid Rana was forced out in his third over, due to a side strain.

Wednesday’s defeat didn’t seem to have left any mark on a reborn Bangladesh, which saw the opportunity to go on the attack first they could as soon as it was possible, even if they were placed in danger. Brian Bennett was the first to get the ball moving and delivered back-to-back hits for No.1.

Raza then went to the opposite end and set up a scoring opportunity with Saif on 8 chipping a ball to the left of mid-off. The catch was foiled. However, Richard Ngarava made space and created an opportunity with a kick to extra cover from Saif on 13, to which Zimbabwe came in answer with a second.

Lastly Blessing Muzarabani came up with the spin. Saif attempted a flick past deep square leg but there was a man for the flick and he couldn’t make the pass. Saif was rescued again on 18. At that stage, Tanzid had six off eight and began to gradually step up his game. The first over saw 13 hits from Brad Evans and Bangladesh completed the powerplay on 54 without any loss to leave Zimbabwe stunned.

Tanzid was dropped at 37 and 46 before reaching 50 off 33 balls and Saif was dropped twice more at 37 and 46 before reaching his half-century in 42 balls. Zimbabwe had failed to take a wicket in 14 overs and Bangladesh had a great base to launch from. Rather, Zimbabwe’s army retook them.

Saif missed a possible slog off Raza and was involved in a dramatic slide to start. After the Tanzid was bowled off the inside-edge by Ngarava, Ngarave returned with the ball and Zimbabwe finally had a result when Clive Madande ran back and dived to make the catch at Towhid’s above cover-point.

Bangladesh were forced to put up with five wickets in 21 runs off 14 balls from Zimbabwe and would have thought they had got the better of them had it not been for a buffer of 170 left. Raza got off to a flying start with a 28 off 12 deliveries before he was caught behind by Rishad in the seventh over, pushing Burl into the crease. When Shumba was attempting a big hit, his shot was missed and he got bowled, he took the game over when his next attempt, a shot over midwicket, was hit for six.

Tashinga Musekiwa knew his task. He was a very generous giver to Burl as far as strike was concerned and played a very good cricket game between the posts.

Their 29-run partnership for 26 balls was slow, but it helped to ensure Zimbabwe never lost the race. Burl was struggling when he cross-batted Rishad to midwicket and two balls later, Musekiwa found his way to Saif, who had just came back into the fray, and delivered a splendid slice to Saifuddin.

Zimbabwe were in trouble in the 15th over with 109/8 when Evans reached the crease. He hit the fifth ball he faced straight down the ground for six and then took 15 runs off Taskin Ahmed’s final over but was starved of strike early in the penultimate over and then sliced it to a diving Parvez to all but end Zimbabwe’s innings.

Dambisa Moyo was seemingly going to lose all his blood in Wednesday’s match but a transformed Bangladesh did not seem to show any marks of weakness and was set to take the battle to Zimbabwe as early as possible. Brian Bennett was the first bowler to be in and he was bowled for two consecutive deliveries to deliver two boundaries.

Raza then moved from that end and found himself a chance when Saif chipped him to the left of mid off from the 8. The Catch was flushed. Richard Ngarava found himself in the right place at the right time after he was sent to extra cover by Saif on the 13th, as Zimbabwe scored a second time.

Lastly, Blessing Muzarabani went for the spin. Saif attempted to flick him past deep square leg but he had a man there to cover the flick and he dropped it as well. On 18. Saif regained life. Tanzid was at 6/8 at the time and gradually increased. Brad Evans’ first over cost 13 and Bangladesh finished the powerplay on 54 without loss to leave Zimbabwe rattled.

Saif was caught slack in a stunning attempt to slog off Raza and then bowled to set up a dramatic slide. Ngarava returned for the 16th over, and started shooting Tanzid over the inside-edge, but Zimbabwe finally got a hold of the ball when Clive Madande ran back and dived to take a catch after Towhid Hridoy mishit Ngarava above cover-point.

Stuart Evans got two balls to Raza by Parvez Hossain Emon at the long-on and Nurul Hasan was bounced out two balls later. Zimbabwe came out on top in 21 runs in 14 balls, and would have looked good to keep Bangladesh under 170. That was until Saifuddin got hold of Evans’ final over and blasted his team to a serious score,
