I believe that the power play still offers the best chance to bat, a slightly harder ball. Then, once the ball is a bit older, it can be really difficult,

Then when I slowed it down, there was more of a turn. I think if there’s a little bit of turn at my slow ball, I will bowl it a little slower. Shai Hope | West Indies skipper: It’s always difficult to come up with a good batting score first in Guyana, but I’m not having a good captain at the toss, but we have to find West Indies Vs NZ many ways of scoring in tough conditions. But that’s one of those times when you need some luck too, and we may not have had as much as a batting unit in these past two games. I could say the exact opposite of the New Zealanders as they had a lot of chances to come up short there.

We need to change, we need to become a team once again. So, to give ourselves a chance we must win the first one for sure. The first thing we have to do is, however, look at what’s in front of us, look at the circumstances in front of us, and then if we can, we hope the result is better.

He’s bowling really well, on Lawes. He has come in and is very comfortable. It’s something that we’ve been looking for, some spinning options. And like I said, he’s been bowling really nicely. Since that first game, when he finally got a little of his jitters sorted out now, he has been quite consistent.

If you’re putting the ball in the correct spot, then I believe the pitch will help you with that too! I think it’s just obviously, he’s been a big inspiration for, you know, my left arm orthodox bowling under New Zealand conditions.

So I suppose thinking back 12 months, it was probably a long shot to be, I suppose, here playing with him. So it’s been really cool to sort of lean on him and learn from him as well. So,

I think it’s the adaptability from the whole bowling unit, that’s just been a great thing. From game one, we weren’t too pleased with our execution for bits and pieces of that game. It’s very pleasing to come back and adapt and show you’re learning very fast and pick up games two and three.

Kiwi success (again) against a challenging target and pitch, 20:20 (00:20 GMT / 05:50 IST). They put in a good performance to send the West Indies in for 140 on a sodden wicket to complete a 2-1 victory in the five-match series.

Latham was able to keep a cool head and do much to calm the ship in the end but the top order helped on the chase too, and Latham was backed up by Foxcroft.

Lawes was one of the wickets that fell for the West Indies but it was always going to be a tough job defending a small score. In this New Zealand v West Indies match, the intense drama of cricket is the focus of the game as Mitchell Santner faces Shai Hope in the New Zealand, which has plenty of action in store.

Vitel Lawes had started his international career brightly as the visitors had to come good in the chase, however after suffering another collapse in the batting against the bowlers from the other side in the ODI series, West Indies dismissed 6 wickets to take a 2-1 lead.

John Campbell was forced to retire hurt after what looked like a hamstring injury, but as West Indies were all out for 140 for 9 at the end of the innings,

Jayden Lennox followed his five-wicket performance in the second match with 4 for 52 – equaling most wickets for a New Zealand spinner in a bilateral ODI series. An unbeaten partnership of 52 off the bat of Tom Latham and Dean Foxcroft helped New Zealand break the deadlock to cross the line.

Mark Chapman was then beaten on the inside edge and Young was to cover a wide delivery and fell lbw to give New Zealand 77 for 3. Although Lawes still served up the occasional loose delivery – understandable for a 19-year-old in his third professional game – his control has improved markedly even in the short space of time of this series.

The game was even more on the balance when Daryl Mitchell was beaten when he came into the park and later was relieved when Lawes came back in to his eight over and two full tosses were cashed in on by Latham and Foxcroft.

But if West Indies had limited for LBW against Foxcroft when he was 9, Lawes would have had a fourth wicket in the final over with 33 to be bowled.

It was played a run and Foxcroft was in behind the wicket, but a replay ruled that there was no edge and ball-tracking calculated it would hit half way up leg stump. Having reached that point New Zealand had few additional difficulties in completing the task.

The Windies were twice put in a difficult situation and twice were put in the back of the net to be handed a penalty, but then it was all out again in what was an almost replay of the last game.

After retiring hurt in the sixth over following himself on the ground after sprinting through for a single, Ackeem Auguste was run out in a brilliant manner by Mitchell Santner, running back from mid-off.

But the hosts faced setback in the 17th over as Shai Hope got hit by Lennox’s arm ball for the second consecutive game. After 3 overs Sherfane Rutherford hit a reverse sweep to deep point.

Playing his first ODI since last June, Keacy Carty had to work hard to give himself a base and with the recalled Shmorn Hetmyer, took West Indies to 121/3 against Lennox. Hetmyer was added because MLC was too busy to receive his kit.
